Getting Here & Parking
We look forward to welcoming you! We are accessible by public transit, with nearby stops on Uplands Dr (Routes 20, 20A, and 40) and Island Hwy at Rutherford Rd (Route 70).
If arriving by car, we offer a passenger drop-off zone 6.1 m (20 ft) from our entrance. Our shared
accessible parking space is located approximately 15.2 m (50 ft) from the front door. The
parking spot has a 2.2° slope and 2.8° cross slope. It measures 370.8 cm (146 in) wide and
features an adjacent 137.2 cm (54 in) wide sidewalk transfer aisle with a curb cutout. Additional
parallel parking spots are located 32 m (105 ft) away against a retaining wall; both have a 3.8°
slope and 2.8° cross slope. A dedicated EV charging station space is also provided.

Approaching & Entering the Store
The path to our front door from the accessible parking spot is a smooth, slip-resistant concrete
sidewalk (3.3° slope / 0.6° cross slope) that contrasts clearly with the darker, paved roadway.
Our entry is completely step-free with a low threshold plate. Our main entrance door provides 79
cm of clearance width, and our team is always happy to unlatch the second door to create a
wide 158 cm opening. (Note: We do not currently have power-operated automatic doors).

Inside the Shop & Seating
Kinsu features an open, flat floor plan with plenty of space to turn or pass in a mobility device.
We offer a variety of seating options, including benches, armless chairs, and deep barrel-style
chairs. Our shop is brightly lit with natural sunlight and multi-directional overhead lighting. Because we
feature an open kitchen concept, you will hear background sounds from kitchen fans, chocolate
preparation, and guest chatter. If you prefer a quieter experience, we recommend visiting in the
morning. We provide free Wi-Fi, and our Square payment kiosk has built-in accessibility tools,
including TalkBack, screen contrast, magnification, and a headphone jack.

Menus & Checkout
Printed menus are available directly on the counter for close reading, and treats in the display
cabinet include visual dietary labels. While our main counter stands at 95.5 cm high, our team
will gladly assist you in ordering and making payment.
Washroom
We offer a single-occupancy, gender-neutral, accessible washroom (86 cm wide clearance
lever-handle door) featuring:
● Clear floor maneuvering space (168 cm x 120 cm).
● Low-mounted mirror suitable for seated or standing guests.
● Horizontal rear grab bar and an L-shaped side grab bar.
● Open knee clearance beneath the 85 cm-high sink with insulated hot water pipes.
● Low-reach coat hook (120 cm), soap dispenser (51 cm reach), paper towels (36 cm
reach), and hand dryer (105 cm).
